Jocelyn’s unique skill set in archival storytelling helped us to create First We Feast’s first ever podcast series, “The Meals That Made Me” in honor of our 10th Anniversary. Her dedicated efforts in pioneering this special series in creative collaboration with our team resulted in a powerful presentation that honors both the history of our brand and our foray into new storytelling platforms. If your organization is in need of storytelling to amplify your brand, I highly recommend working with Jocelyn and Arbo Radiko.

Our Deliverables

ARBO RADIKO embarked on an unprecedented mission to define the First We Feast brand’s legacy across a 10-episode podcast series as a new marketing vertical, featuring chefs from their most popular original programming. “The 10 Dishes That Made My Career” was the flagship editorial series when First We Feast first launched in 2012, and it contributed to FWF’s 2014 James Beard Award in their first year of eligibility. We created their first podcast format, “The Meals That Made Me” hosted by celebrity food talent Adam Richman offering career-spanning interviews through the lens of food as subjects trace their lives through 10 milestone meals, with an accompanying Spotify playlist featuring the chefs’ “favorite songs for cooking”. The series draw out funny, illuminating, and touching stories prompted by our guest’s most salient culinary memories. Alongside the podcast series, we created an accompanying Spotify playlist of the chef’s favorite music for cooking to support global marketing for the series.

Our Reimagining

In order to enhance the interview format for the most engaging listening experience, we partnered with Ugly Brother Studios to license archival audio (recorded on site in Italy) from Hulu series “The Shape of Pasta” featuring celebrity chef Evan Funke and mapped this special content into the sound design, adding a personal touch to the finished product that instantly makes the listener feel more immersed in the storytelling. By conducting pre-interviews and archival research before each recording session, our assemblies were crafted from the chefs own words and informed by their media histories—in keeping with our mission to give each chef the opportunity to be the agent of their own story. In each episode, guests share about the meals that have resonated with them throughout the years. We dive narratively into the meals of their childhood, the meals that are tied to their career success, and the meals that continue to inspire them and remind them of their creative calling today.
